Payment Plan

Open tab

We have a 5-stage payment plan, starting with a 10% deposit to secure your production start date. Then 15% at the start of the build and 3 x 25% deposits in line with production progress. Time-stamped photos are supplied at each stage and you are welcome to visit our factory at any time. Final payment is due prior to delivery and we recommend visiting our factory to inspect your pool prior to delivery.

Do I need building consent for my pool?

Open tab

None of our pools require building consent due to the fact that they are all under 35,000 litres capacity.

Do I need pool fencing or "barriers"?

Open tab

Pool Fencing or “barriers” are required to keep children under the age of 5 years out of your pool area. They need to
conform to NZ Standards F9 AS1 which will require a builder's consent with
inspections required every 3 years. The requirements are totally dependent on the positioning of your pool, and what landscaping, decking or
surroundings you plan to use.    With regard to our pools, the
rules are not complicated, and we can advise you what is likely to be needed when carrying out a site visit.

Please take a look at the link below from Auckland Council which shows videos of these requirements for in-ground and above ground pools.  If you plan to deck around the pool, you may need to refer to
the in-ground pool video.

We have also provided a link to the Building Code F9 regulations below:

https://www.building.govt.nz/assets/Uploads/building-code-compliance/f-safety-of-users/f9-restricting-access-residential-pools/asvm/f9-restricting-access-to-residential-pools.pdf

The key features of F9 is the need for the pool fencing to be 1.2m high, self-closing and with a latch 1.5m high.
They must be non-climbable and have no other structures within 1.2m of the water’s edge that could be used to enable access to the pool.
There are other provisions that consider boundary fences and building as part of the pool barriers. The general rule is that NO pool
fencing (or barrier) is required if the top of the pool is more than 1.2m above the ground. All Poolsmart pools comply with this.

Safety Fencing (or Risk of Falling)

Open tab

This is totally different to pool fencing and covers the “Risk of Falling” and is part of the building code F4.   It has nothing to do with swimming pools but is used to mitigate the risk of falling where you have a structure that is higher than 1m. For swimming pools, safety fencing is a requirement if your deck surrounding the pool is more than 1m high from the ground, or you are able
to stand on the edge of the pool where the edge is higher than 1m. Safety fencing height is normally 1m. Safety fencing can often double up as pool fencing, and vice versa. We can talk you through this during the site visit.

What do I need to prepare for my pool?

Open tab

As part of our warranty, we require a 200mm reinforced concrete pad created to keep your pool level and fully supported. A power source needs to be brought to the Pool Box and your Electrician can arrange this for you.  All our pools can run on a single phase 10amp set up,  but the Heat Pump (optional) will require a 15amp current. We recommend that the power source is taken directly from your fuse box, but your Electrician will advise you.

What type of water systems do you have?

Open tab

The Sanitation System is included in the price of your pool and this is an area where we do not compromise on quality.    All our pools (unless requested) are supplied with a top of the range mineral chlorinator system giving you the best water quality possible.

Can you clad the outside?

Open tab

Yes, all our pools are cladded with our Signex Plastic cladding system and this is included in the price of your pool.    However, we have a number of premium upgrades for you to consider and these are covered on our “Cladding” page on our website.

Do the pools go in the ground?

Open tab

Our pools are primarily designed to go above ground, and are ideal for sloping, split level, elevated positions or raised decks.  This usually requires some degree of in-ground installation, so anything is possible.   Because our pools are totally self-contained and removable, in ground options simply require a cavity separating the earth wall from the steel frame.    We can talk you through this process when we see what your excavation needs will be.

What is the warranty period of these pools?

Open tab

-  Fiberglass Shell, 10 years

-  Structural Warranty, 25 years

-  Components Contained with Frame, 10 years

-  Filter/Sanitiser/Heat Pump/Pumps, as per manufacturer’s warranty (to be supplied)

Full Terms & Conditions available on request.

Where can you transport them too?

Open tab

We can transport them NZ wide, the cost of delivery is on top of the pool price, just enquire to see how much to your location. Export is also an option.

Do I need a pool cover?

Open tab

Yes, we recommend a Tricell 600mc Solar Bubble cover.   This has proven to work extremely well in conjunction with our Heat Pumps and is will ensure the efficiency and the economy of the entire system.  In addition to this the cover will ensure minimal debris will enter your pool.

Do I need a heat pump?

Open tab

We suggested adding a Heat Pump as this will significantly extend the use of your Pool over all 4 seasons. Given the overall cost of your pool installation, you want to be able to enjoy your pool as much as possible. Our 13.5 Kw Heat Pump would typically keep your pool at around 28 degrees and operates in conjunction with your filtration system. If you prefer higher temperatures you just need to run the Heat Pump at a higher setting. You may not need to run the pump over the summer months, but if you did typical costs would be around $3 - $4 per day. If you ran the heat pump over the Winter months, this would be roughly $4 - $5 per day.
